LASER TREATMENT:

GUM DEPIGMENTATION

The normal color of the gums is pink but this varies from person to person. A dark brown or blackish gum is a result of excessive melanin pigmentation. This is normal but not a very aesthetically pleasing sight. For cosmetic purpose, the color of the gums can be changed by a procedure called gum de-pigmentation. This involves laser ablation techniques. This is absolutely safe procedure performed by our ‘on panel’ Gum Specialist.

GUM CONTOURING-

Do you have a "gummy" smile? Are your gums visible while you smile?

If so, you may be a good candidate for cosmetic contouring of your gum tissue. Using a laser, we can give you a more aesthetic appearance when you smile by shaping and sculpting your gums.

The gum line, and the bone just beneath the gum line, can be lowered to change the appearance of your smile. This can create a more even gum line or make the teeth appear longer.

“Gingival (gum) contouring" is the process of re-contouring the gum only. The process of re-contouring of both gum and supporting bone is referred as “Crown lengthening"

You can experience a dramatic difference in the look of your smile, especially when combined with other forms of cosmetic dentistry.

FLAP SURGERY (POCKET REDUCTION SURGERY)

It is a simple surgical procedure carried out on dental chair itself under local anesthesia. The gum specialist (Periodontist) will slightly reflect the gums from your teeth and remove the underlying infection using lasers. By doing this the condition of the gums improves considerably, making your smile healthy.
